Kintsugi Infinity Jewelry : A metaphor explained

Whether you are seasoned to MILAMORE Jewelry designs or not, one thing to note is how we take classic jewelry concepts and tweak them to voice Japanese art, concepts, traditions, and philosophies.

WHAT IS KINTSUGI?

Kintsugi is the Japanese restoration method of repairing broken pottery with gold lacquer. The philosophy is rooted in Wabi-Sabi , and believes that the piece is made more beautiful for having endured the wears of time. Our Kintsugi pieces invite the wearer to find beauty in the flaw and embrace who they are.

We released our Kintsugi Collection pre-pandemic in 2019. Each year we release new designs (some limited) that clients can purchase to adorn themselves as Kintsugi art. Our Kintsugi Infinity jewelry showcases our latest designs, while adding more layers to the metaphor of Kintsugi.

Kintsugi Infinity pieces are designs inspired by the double helix form of DNA and the Mobius strip that represents infinity. They are also inspired by the lucky number 8 in Japan. Each piece is handcrafted to show the unique dimension of Kintsugi lines within the infinity form. These pieces have truly special movements and designs curated to give you an elevated look from any angle.

IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS…..

We are all about the details! No matter what collection you shop in, there is an element of Kintsugi, and metaphor. MILAMORE has updated most of their jump rings to speak to this element of Kintsugi. We call these jump rings “EN”.

EN is a symbol of connectedness, circle, and relationship. This EN also speaks to the reality that everything is interconnected and has purpose.
